9 of Our All-Time Favorite Quilt Patterns

Grace Company’s digital education team has come together to make a list of our all-time favorite quilt patterns. If you’re looking for a summer project to keep you occupied—and in the comfort of your air conditioning—you’ve come to the right place.

Each of our digital educators (Jenna, Sabrina, and Angelique) have picked their top three quilting patterns and shared what they love about them. This collection of patterns serves a variety of skill-levels and supports a variety of quilt sizes, so hopefully whatever you’re looking to make, you’ll find inspiration here.

Jenna’s Quilting Pattern Picks

Jenna loves quilting with bright colors and scrappy patterns!

She made her first quilt at ten years old, and after fifteen years of sewing, quilting, and overnight quilting retreats with her family, she’s found so many quilting patterns that she loves.

Jenna's Full Circle Quilt

1. Full Circle by Tamara Darragh for Remi Vail Studio

Jenna brought this clean, modern quilt pattern to life with vibrant fabrics and longarm spirals. Jenna makes free-handing circles look easy, but if you’re intimidated, check out Grace Company’s Circle Cutter!

Available Sizes: Mini, Baby, Throw

Skill Level: Intermediate

Jenna's Felix Quilt

2. Felix by Jennifer Jones for Penelope Handmade

Hot pink and orange fabrics really make Jenna’s take on this pattern pop! You can mix and match whatever fabric speaks to your soul with this riff on the Cat’s Cradle block.

Available Sizes: Toddler, Square Throw, Rectangular Throw, Bed

Skill Level: Intermediate

Jenna's Goldie Quilt

3. Goldie by Meghan Buchanan of Then Came June

This quilt pattern leans into Jenna’s preference for scrappy quilts, so if you like all the itty-bitty pieces, this one is for you! This quilt uses classic techniques to create fresh, new take on the Bear Paw design.

Available Sizes: Baby, Throw, Bed

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sabrina’s Quilting Pattern Picks

Sabrina’s years of learning the ins and outs of quilting from her multigenerational quilting family have given her plenty of opportunities to gather quilt patterns and pick out her favorites.

Sabrina's Cross the Line Quilt

4. Cross the Line by Moda Fabrics

National Quilt A Jelly Roll Day is one of Sabrina’s favorite days of the year! One year, she celebrated with her mom by tag-teaming this fun, criss-crossy quilt. Her mom handled the pressing, and Sabrina did the piecing.

Available Sizes: 51” x 60”

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sabrina's Quilt-as-you-go hexagon quilt

5. Quilt-As-You-Go Hexagon Pattern by Daisy & Grace for Missouri Star

Sabrina loves this quilt-as-you-go hexagon project. She’s figured out an easier way to make the hexagons out of Minky, and she’s made some adorable baby blankets with those hexagon pieces.

Available Sizes: 57.24” x 54”

Skill Level: Beginner

6. Vintage by Sew Kind of Wonderful

This pattern is Sabrina’s all-time favorite for straight piecing quilts. This simple pattern comes together quickly, and it’s great practice for binding on odd borders.

Available Sizes: 51” x 77”

Skill Level: Beginner

Angelique’s Quilting Pattern Picks

When Angelique makes quilts, she usually makes her patterns up as she goes, but she loves following patterns for quilted bags and other accessories. Her background teaching science has prepared her for all kinds of experimentation in quilting.

Angelique's Holland Duffle

7. The Holland Duffle by Kristina Brinkerhoff for Center Street Quilts

This pattern lets you use your quilting skills for something a little different. Make your own duffle bag and make sure that it perfectly meets your style and that the quality is up to snuff. Angelique used fabric with a map-inspired design and quilted wave patterns over its surface.

Finished Size: 15” W x 9” D x 9” H

Skill Level: Confident Beginner - Intermediate

Angelique's Sandhill Sling

8. Sandhill Sling by Anna Graham for Noodlehead

If you’re looking for something a little smaller, Angelique recommends this sling bag pattern. She made it her own with fun fabric, ribbons, and quilted curves.

Finished Size: 7” W x 3” D x 11” H

Skill Level: Confident Beginner - Intermediate

Angelique's Butterfly Beauty Quilt

9. Butterfly Beauty by Angelique Showman for SewSciology

This one is an Angelique special! Angelique created this fun, butterfly-centric quilt in deep, muted tones and bug-patterned fabric, but if you make it yourself, you can really make it your own.

Available Sizes: 67.5” x 90”

Skill Level: Beginner
